The Volunteer Services Council is assisting with the Music & Memories program! This program connects people to music in a unique way that may help with Dementia.
The Volunteer Services Council held their 2017 Awards Luncheon on Thursday, April 13th, 2017 to recognize the many hours of volunteer time given to benefit those living at the Abilene State Supported Living Center.
Cindy Arellano had the honor of presenting Hour Bars representing over 69,850 hours of service!
An annual total of approximately 350 individuals comprised of long-term and one-time volunteers for special events: Fall Festival, 5K and Christmas Lane plus 56 Interns and numerous visiting groups volunteered at Abilene State Supported Living Center, totaling over 16,448 hours of services for a value of over $412,516. The income from donations, grants and fundraisers totaled $236,673 plus an additional $9,270 value of in-kind donations.
The VSC Board hosted a thank-you luncheon in January to show their appreciation for the many hours spent to make Christmas Lane 2016 a success!
